Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Shafter District Curriculum

In Math, the standards are the skills and strategies necessary to master the problem-solving strategies in operations, geometric functions, mathematical relationships and the analysis of data. This framework also supports Science learning which broadly teaches the processes of scientific inquiry and the principles within the various fields of Science. With the problem-solving and communication strategies that students gain in these core classes, the work they are able to do in other subjects like Social Studies, History, or elective courses asks students to use these skills to learn new concepts and create original scholarship.
