Writing to learn and writing to inform are emphasized in the teaching of the writing process. The infusion of technology in learning requires advanced reading and writing skills and supports these abilities by providing opportunities to read, create, research, and increase student learning in all subject areas.

Chalk Talk: How to Prepare Your Child for Math!

Using teachable moments each day is a great way to prepare your child for school, and to support your child’s learning if they already attend school. When your child is grocery shopping with you, take time to show your child how to make good food choices by comparing one brand with another. Explain your thinking to your child, and talk about how you decide which product is the better buy. While watching parents, children understand that math is used in their everyday world.
