Chalk Talk: Early Literacy Development

Early development of literacy skills is a widely discussed topic and heavily emphasized during pre-school. For students who do not catch on to reading early, don't fret! First, literacy skills are developed and students gain different reasons for appreciating reading at different times. In literacy development, the first step to developing strong literacy skills is to read for pleasure. Reading stories and going to the library to look through the shelves are great ways to help your child's literacy development.
