The curriculum in Math lays a foundation of knowledge in problem solving strategies, computational processes, and ways to interpret and understanding quantitative information. When students are in high school, the courses they take in Algebra, Geometry, or pre-Calculus designed to bring about these outcomes through advanced topics which are presented in both an Applied and an Academic approach. Students who want to be prepared for mathematical or scientific studies at the university level are encouraged to choose the Academic Path.

The curriculum in English has been organized around broad goals of literacy and communication development. Students are expected to read across the content areas and learn ways to decode and analyze texts. Chalk Talk: Skills for High School Students

High school students will be more likely to succeed if they develop specific skills. Everyone enjoys free time, but it is important to be able to manage class time, homework, and free time. A daily planner can help to keep track of this schedule, and keep the student from over-scheduling their time. To go along with this, students need to make sure they are always prepared for class and attend regularly. Assignments need to be complete and on-time. During study time, the student should spend time, daily, reviewing notes so that it will not be too overbearing on test day. Finally, to help make sure that the student’s concentration level is the highest during class, help them to see the importance of a good night’s sleep.
