Mathematics at the K-5 grade levels emphasizes number sense, computation, and measurement and shape recognition with a focus on using those concepts in algebra, geometry, and statistics in high school. Manipulatives are used often as a means of engaging student learning to progress with these skills and students work on projects that connect math to everyday experiences.
English Language Arts focuses on foundational reading, speaking, listening and language skills, and analytic abilities. Middle school and high school students continue English Language Arts skills to involve more thorough understanding and analysis of texts and identification of story elements in progressively complex literature. Writing skills focus on developing creative, informational and explanatory styles. Students are also taught how to edit and revise their work, which helps to hone their language skills The use of complex language and discussion is emphasized through the grades.

My son’s math marks in high school have always been weak so I found it very beneficial that his ACT tutor worked on solidifying his fundamentals while prepping for the ACT.
SchoolTutoring Academy gave my daughter the confidence she needed to boost her SAT score Thank you!
SchoolTutoring has played an important role in improving our son’s confidence and attitude towards school. His grades have also improved steadily throughout the school year.
My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: Writing The College Application Essay
Most college applications require an essay. Schools want to know more about potential students than just grades, SAT scores and overall academic performance. They want to know about challenges, strengths, weaknesses, or an specific experience and how it was handled. Addressing the essay topic can be one of the more challenging “writing assignments” a high school student may have. It requires them to put themselves as the focus of the essay and do so that captures the attention of whichever college admissions person may be reading it. The writing requires time, a little patience, and a few drafts. However, the task doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Seeking help and thoughts from parents, siblings, friends or teachers should be considered. They can provide that situation, example or description of what the student needs to address and then build on these thoughts.
