Suffield Public Schools maintain high standards of education for all grade levels. In elementary, students are engaged in hands-on learning activities where students feel excited about learning. The standards focus on early literacy that will develop with each grade creating children who can read at a high level, but they can understand in depth and critically read. Writing and speaking are also emphasized. In math and science, students are challenged to think in depth as well and understand how their skills will apply to college and careers. Teachers are given time to provide students with this chance to think critically and understand the material before moving on.

This means your family schedules other activities around school, homework, and studying, not the other way around. It means you continually have dialog in your house about what they did in school that day and not let a simple one-word answer like “fine” suffice.
