They also learn about the environment that is needed to help the cells and the plants and animals have long lives. Through biology students learn there is more than they can imagine beyond the surface of each item.

Geography is a part of the Social Studies curriculum at Texas City Schools. Students are taught how the image of the world, geographically, has changed over time as exploration has expanded boundaries. Students learn how to apply geographic ideas to their room, their town and more. Chalk Talk: Kindergarten Math

When a student enters kindergarten they are full of wonder and are willing to learn almost anything. Educational standards vary from state to state but, overall, students learn about the same thing. Quite a bit of the learning takes place using manipulatives to help children become more comfortable with the topic they are learning. During this year, students will begin to understand time and they will be able to tell time to the nearest hour. They learn how to combine and separate sets by using items found in the classroom, with these same items they learn how to classify and sort. Students learn how to compare numbers by using more, less and the same, plus they learn so much more. Parents should ask children each day what they have learned, then celebrate each new idea.
