Chalk Talk: Saving Money When You’re Young
Teaching your child how to save money at a young age can give him or her financial security for the future. First, help the child establish a savings goal. Then provide a place for him or her to keep savings, such as a piggy bank or a savings account. Now help him or her determine how much to put into savings. Teach your child that he or she does not need the latest fashion or gadget. A comfortable lifestyle should be lived within budget constraints. When your child wants to make a purchase help him or her find the best deal. Not being a spendthrift when young will lead to greater wealth later in life.
