The main subjects are English and Math which enable students to become skilled communicators to present reports and essays and be able to critically analyze themes and issues in stories and novels which reflect a deeper meaning in society. The Math curriculum enables students to become creative and confident problem solvers through algebra, fractions, statistics and more complex operations such as probability, ratios, and measurement.

Students in the fifth and seventh grades are required to participate in the DARE program taught by police officers for supporting prevention of violence, drug and alcohol prevention, helping students to build their self-esteem, reduce stress and be able to solve moral issues and make wise decisions. Chalk Talk: ESL Programs

Every classroom nowadays has English as a Second Language Students either separately or jointly with English speaking students. What is remarkable is how fast these students learn once they are passionate about learning English. Confidence comes from their innate desire and self-efficacy to learn. ESL students are best taught with a variety of resources tailored to their individual needs and modes of learning. Some students learn best visually while others need a combination of tactile stimulation and auditory modes. However, most learners are visual. This is why resources such as flash cards, games, "seeing" or visualizing scenarios, and even acting them out can make a difference in enhancing their verbal and written communication. The point is that learning for ESL students needs to be fun, interactive and engaging with the teacher serving as a highly trained facilitator rather than one who seemingly corrects mistakes in grammar or pronunciation. Encouraging the students to talk about their experiences and interests can help open up conversation, while allowing them to use their conversational skills and learn new vocabulary.
