Chalk Talk: Value of Extracurricular Activities

Getting your child involved in extracurricular activities provides them with many opportunities for learning and growth outside of the classroom. Students can learn valuable skills, such as teamwork, communication, and perseverance by joining after school clubs or participating in sports. They may also develop leadership skills within an area of particular interest and which may serve as a model for future career ideas. Extracurricular activities are also a great way for your child to meet new children and form bonds with kids that don’t attend their school or who are not in their particular class. By participating in clubs, sports, or other activities, students also have the chance to develop better time management skills. Juggling the requirements of their academic work with the commitments involved in extracurricular activities will help prepare your child for the realities of adult life.
