My objective is to help as many people as I possibly can by imparting belief through words of encouragement, instilling confidence through required practice and fostering hope to inter-dependent learning by teaching the process of learning math and physics.
As an educator, I provide individualized instruction that is differentiated based on students’ current level of understanding and background knowledge, areas for improvement, questions, and interests. My instructional strategy follows the “I do”/”we do”/”you do” model of scaffolding.
My educational philosophy is that all students can learn given the correct resources to allow the student to think, practice, and build upon prior knowledge to lead them to higher levels of academic growth. The best teachers are those who are certified in their specialty areas and provide safe and comfortable environments using strategy-based learning styles to bring out the best in students.

The Military Aviation Museum

Military Aviation Museum visitors may often ponder where each beautiful aircraft originated. The core pieces in the collection were collected, gathered, and maintained by Gerald and Elaine Yagen, who were longtime residents of Virginia Beach, as well as founders of Centura College, and the Aviation Institute of Maintenance schools. Yagen spent most of his life as a general aviation pilot, but he never had the chance to put his skills to use in the military. All of his experience flying took place in civilian, general aviation, and most often in his personal twin engine aircraft. He then dedicated the next decades of his life to tracking down and restoring world war 2 era planes. No one imagined that the small restoration projects would grow into one of America’s largest collection of historic airplanes from the last century. Today, these rare airplanes are on display and fly from the Virginia Beach airport. They have been saved and preserved for future generations to enjoy and marvel. Chalk Talk: How to Connect Through Email Communication

It is an important skill in today's world where much communication happens through email and other virtual components to be able to establish connections and build relationships utilizing that media. Here are some helpful pointers to assist you. Start messages or emails with the recipient's first name and close with a simple signature such as "Thanks, John." This helps personalize a message. If you use a smartphone to respond to emails, add a signature into the phone such as "sent from my phone, please excuse brevity or misspellings." This can help others recognize that you might have been writing on the fly. If you are at a computer, spell check messages that you send - that can go a long way to increasing your online reputation. Don't use slang or acronyms in any student or business related responses, as this can be confusing and unprofessional. Finally, think about limiting access to online social media accounts so the whole world cannot see the private social messages that you send.
