Chalk Talk: The Importance of Parental Involvement

Children whose parents are involved in their education – both at home and at school – stand a much better chance of achieving their academic potential. Children who have involved parents perform better on standardized tests, have higher grades, and have better attendance than children whose parents are less involved. They also have improved self-esteem, better time management skills and demonstrate much more self-discipline when it comes to completing schoolwork. Education is a lifelong process built upon the foundation of skills, knowledge and attitudes children develop during their school years.
