Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Wasco District Curriculum

In Math, students are introduced to the main topics of numerical and algebraic operations, geometric functions, data analysis, and measurement. Through these topics students become able to problem-solve using appropriate tools and strategies, choose computational methods and use models, and understand mathematical relationships which supports advanced reasoning skills.

This framework has been applied to all the subjects and each core academic subject teaches thinking skills that students will use throughout their life. With the advanced and specialized courses that are available to students, the goals for learning will be clearly laid out and the expected learning experiences are outlined.

Contact our Academic Directors Today at 1-877-545-7737 to Discuss your Child's Strengths and Areas for Improvement.

SchoolTutoring Academy’s tutoring programs for Wasco students start with a free academic assessment with an Academic Director. Our flagship tutoring programs are available for $199.99/month which include regular one-on-one tutoring, academic mentorship, bi-monthly progress reports, learning profiles, and parental conference calls.

Wasco District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs

The curriculum that is used in the local schools follows the national model of standards-based education which has shown to be successful because of the detailed expectations it sets out. The role of the curriculum is to align teaching, learning, and assessment so that a clear picture of student and school achievement can be seen.

The curriculum sets out the major goals for student learning in each subject while also developing the series of skills, knowledge, and thinking strategies that students will develop. In Language Arts, the expectations are that students will be able to read a variety of text genres and be able to decode, comprehend, analyze, and evaluate information. Writing is a critical component of the curriculum and students are taught about the craft of writing, the purposes for writing, and the structure of language.

We currently cover the following Wasco-area school district: Semitropic School District, Wasco Union Elementary School District, Wasco Union High School District.
