Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Wellington District Curriculum
Students in the typical math classroom will be learning how to think logically; use numbers; measure; calculate with fractions; analyze shapes; and add, subtract, multiply, and divide efficiently. Teachers in middle school implant knowledge of algebra, probability/statistics, ratios/proportions, and geometry. And high school opens the doors to geometry, statistics, and algebra.
Earth, space, matter, motion, and energy are the order of the day in elementary science. Middle school science embraces scientific exploration, evolution, the relationship of society and science, and scientific laws. Students in high school are afforded the opportunity to gain knowledge of life science, physical science, earth science, and space science. They are taught ways to form hypotheses, test and validate their assumptions, and communicate their scientific findings.
