West Norriton District and Curriculum
Making education accessible to all students with each of their individual needs is important to Norristown Area School District. While they ensure that their students have the tools that they need to succeed in school and beyond, they offer comprehensive programming for gifted, special needs, and English Language Learner students. Special Education services are also offered to students who need them where specific care plans can be made to meet the individual needs of each student.

Educating Our Parents: Understanding the West Norriton District Curriculum
Currently, seminars are offered for gifted students in elementary through high school. Students can choose a topic or concentration and take that particular seminar during normal class hours when the seminar is offered. Next year the high school will be moving to offering a class for gifted students where they will receive academic credits rather than having to interrupt class to attend seminars.
There are English Language Learner resources for all students who need it at any grade level. Also, there are resources for parents of English Language Learners online and helpful resources in Spanish as well as English. There are also language courses and other opportunities for cultural learning and foreign exchange. The increased use of technology in the classroom, besides teaching students how to work with these emerging tools, also allows for students to reach out and communicate with students around the world and participate in cross-cultural learning experiences.

- New Athletic Director at Norristown Area School District - Congratulations to Mr. Anthony Palladino, the new Athletic Director at Norristown Area School District. He began in mid-April, 2014 and it working to improve all athletic options for the students. Best wishes in this new position!
- US Soldiers Write 3rd Graders from Afghanistan - 3rd Graders from wrote letters to US soldiers in Afghanistan and received a detailed response. This is one of the many assignments students engage in that bring together both community outreach and character education.
- Exchange Teacher From Scotland Visits Eisenhower Science and Technology Leadership Academy - Ms. Gibson will visit the Eisenhower Science and Technology Leadership Academy from Scotland in April. Eisenhower was one of only 20 total schools to participate in such a teacher exchange.
