Mathematics at the elementary level includes a focus on learning numbers, counting, mathematical processes such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Students also learn the base ten numbering system, how to solve word problems, and the basics of Algebra and Geometry.
At the middle school level, students move toward an understanding of higher level mathematics, and the comprehension of abstract mathematical concepts. Middle School students learn measurement tools, equations, fractions, decimals, percents, ratios and basic geometry and algebraic concepts. High school students are required to take at least three credits of Math including Algebra and Geometry.
