Chalk Talk: The Importance of Parent Volunteers
Schools are always sending letters home to parents, asking for volunteers to help teachers. What is the importance of parent volunteers? When parents volunteer, they show their children that they are really interested in what they are doing in school. There are so many ways in which parents can help, but a very important effect of parental involvement is that teachers can learn more about your child’s family. If you do not get to know your child’s teacher, the teacher will not know useful information about your child’s home environment. Becoming involved in your child’s education at home is so very important and becoming involved at school strengthens your child’s understanding of how important his or her education is to you. Support your child’s education. Get involved.
