Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Woodbridge District Curriculum

The Woodbridge School District functions under the CCSS as well. Each subject takes on the major topics of the subject, for instance with Language Arts, reading, writing, language and grammar, and research skills are all emphasized each year. Students should have the ability to identify and use the correct verb tense for the time, sequence, and condition. They should use commas, semi-colons and colons to separate items in a series and separate an introductory part of a sentence. They should have a greater knowledge of sentence structure, determining when it is appropriate to combine, expand, or reduce sentences. Students also need to be able to use print and digital references to look up the meanings of unfamiliar words when necessary.

Woodbridge views curriculum as a changing framework with continuous reviews and modifications. Additionally Woodbridge has listed out grade level expectations and guidelines for other content areas including health, art, technology, music, physical education, science, and world language.
