Linear data and non-linear data is contrasted, functions and relations are compared and contrasted, and variables are explored. Independent and dependent variables are explained to the learners, and they become acquainted with domain and range. Using tables, graphs, and charts, the students will be able to solve problems and evaluate their various functions.

In English Language Arts, the high school students are exposed to English Literature, while developing an appreciation for many works of many authors. Chalk Talk: Gifted and Talented Program Teachers

In many schools, there is a program for the gifted. The gifted child is one who performs at a much higher level than his or her peers. In order to be identified as gifted, the student is usually recommended by the teacher, and they are given a series of aptitude tests. If a child enters into the gifted program, they may be pulled out of the regular classroom on particular days for a set amount of time to get extra challenging instruction by the gifted teacher. Many gifted children remain in the classroom and the regular education teacher differentiates their instruction for them, while reporting back to the gifted teacher. The gifted teacher is a valuable resource for each school!
