Midway Independent School District include in their science curriculum the study of biology. This study of life takes students from the physical characteristics of living things to the systems that are needed to keep the things alive. In this subject the students discover the cells that make up each living thing, as well as taxonomy and classification and how each living thing affects another through ecological succession. This study encourages the students to look beyond the surface of items to understand how they develop and interact.
The English curriculum at Midway Independent School District, teach reading and writing by introducing the students to different types and different time periods throughout their education. They also read different authors so they can see how the different writers can pose their work for many different purposes. By showing different examples to students, the students have a wide array of work to draw on when required to in their future.

- FFA Organization - FFA is open to every student that studies agricultural courses. Through the classes and meeting the members increase their skills in different areas so they may compete and become stronger in the area of agriculture they see as their future. Students may also take part in camps and workshops.
- German Club - German Club allows students that are taking German language classes the opportunity to socialize with others that would like to improve their language skills as well as learn the culture of the German people. This group also takes a yearly trip and the seniors have opportunities to apply for scholarships.
- Midway ISD Education Foundation - The Education Foundation provides support to students and teachers by raising funds and disbursing grants and scholarships. The Foundation supports classroom projects, extracurricular opportunities, field trips, athletic groups, and students post-secondary academic goals. All members of the community are invited to work with the Foundation on building for the future of the students.

Finally, teens are able to reason more and can make choices ethically and morally, even though some of these choices will be affected by their social circles. With these guidelines in mind, parents can see that their teens are facing many changes that can leave them confused. Because of this parents need to leave the lines of communication open.
