Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Woonsocket District Curriculum
Woonsocket uses a curriculum that prepares students for the future and focuses on key learning in Math and Language Arts, Both subjects are taught so that they help students with literacy and problem-solving development in all subjects. Additionally, students in grades 3-5 receive structured science lessons that provide reading, word study, writing, math, and thematic analysis on a daily basis. These skills are used in high school biology when students engage with concepts beginning with the study of matter and ending with genetic analysis.
In high school, as students take on major subject area topics in a more advanced manner, the expectations include the ability to demonstrate a host of critical thinking skills. The expectations in algebraic operations, geometric functions, data analysis are coupled with the expectation that students show quantitative and abstract types of reasoning. Similarly, in Language Arts, students are expected to show a range of analytic skills in writing, reading comprehension, and verbal communication.

My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.
