Using various maps, students delve into geography. Children learn about agriculture, industry, and other practices that are dependent upon natural resources such as water, timber, minerals, and good soil. The manner in which humans have modified their environment is also explored. My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: Why Students Need Math Skills
Not everyone will grow up to be an accountant, but regardless, everyone needs a strong grasp of basic mathematical concepts. Math teaches valuable skills beyond being able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Math teaches students how to see the bigger picture, find solutions to problems, analyze situations, and foresee long-term consequences. Being able to determine how well or how poorly an investment is doing is just one example of these skills put to good use in everyday life. Calculating the tip at dinner is another example of math skills needed in the real world. Math also helps students learn how to utilize important tools, such as calculators and measuring devices. Math is needed to prepare meals, determine monthly budgets, and evaluate athletic performance, such as keeping track of one’s progress while running. From being financially responsible to figuring out how long a trip will take, the everyday uses of math skills are many.
