Every student is capable of learning about any topic, and will experience success if they find a connection to the material. Teaching is about making information relavent and fun for the students, to help them connect ideas and find their own purpose in life.
I am an English, Theatre, and marketing teacher with experience teaching students of all ages both inside and outside the normal classroom environment. I graduated at the top of the Dean’s Honour List, and received multiple awards for my scholastic achievements and community development contributions during my time at University.
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Studies and Marketing Management from the University of Guelph and then went on to receive my Education Degree at Queen’s University. I am currently a certified teacher in the province of Ontario.
As an Ontario Certified Teacher, I have taught classes in each of my subjects, and have also taught ESL students in Quebec. My tutoring experience and professional theatre directing and instructing background has prepared me to work with students who experience a selection of learning disabilities.
I am an active volunteer in my area, and often teacher puppetry, performance, mask, and acting classes. I also enjoy many outdoor activities, like hockey, soccer, swimming, and downhill skiing.
