EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
All students, no matter their background, have the right to be educated by teachers who care. They need to be taught from their current learning level so that there are no gaps in their education and by doing so their own self confidence will grow and they will become successful, positive members and contributors to society.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received my first Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Saskatchewan with a major in Psychology and minors in Philosophy and English Language Arts. At the same institution, I also received my second Bachelor’s Degree in Education. I am a Saskatchewan certified teacher.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been a teacher for over 20 years. I have taught in various school settings, most recently with troubled youth in custody. This has allowed me to develop customized learning plans to meet each individual students’ needs; as well as teach across a variety of grades and subjects. I also work with a locally based distance education program where I teach all subjects from grade 4-9.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I love animals and have several pets of my own. In the past I have volunteered with animal rescue groups and local shelters. I also am an avid reader and writer. I love photography and scrap-booking my photos comes naturally. Over the past few years my husband and I like to travel on our motorcycle which has given me a great opportunity to take more photos! I also love many needlework hobbies including knitting, crocheting and embroidery. Currently I have become interested in quilting and have been sewing rag blankets and other quilts as time permits!
