About Me
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe in integral education, where students are encouraged to find the connections and intersections between all content areas. Learning should be interesting and engaging, and all students can experience success with enough support and encouragement. Educational technology is a useful tool that should be used to enhance instruction.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I attended Lehigh University and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature with a minor in International Relations in 2008. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Secondary English Education, also from Lehigh University, in 2010. In 2012, I became certified as a Reading/Literacy Specialist from Moravian College.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am a 9th grade American Literature teacher at a local high school, where I have been teaching for 4 years. I have taught all high school grade levels. I was also an adjunct instructor in an intensive summer English program for international students at Lehigh University.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am the Dance Team coach at the school where I teach, and I am very proud of my dancers’ accomplishments! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my fiance and our 2 dogs, staying active, enjoying the outdoors, and reading.
