About Me
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that any child can learn. While some have more difficulty, it is a good teacher that will be able to find a way for that child to learn. It is a growing experience for both parties involved.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University (Waterloo) and a Bachelor of Education from York University (Toronto). My major was Anthropology with a minor in Biology. I also have a diploma as a veterinary technician (worked in the field for 8 years).
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for 8 years. I have taught grades 7-12 in a variety of subjects (math, science, chemistry, geography, ESL). I have also tutored many students throughout those 8 years (at-home and at school).
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I have organized Relay for Life at our school for 3 consecutive years. It is a 12 hour group relay that helps raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. I am also responsible for the school yearbook (last 3 years). We did not have a yearbook prior to this. I thought it was important to have a yearbook for the kids to remember their time at our school.
