EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I have learned through the years that good things come from persevering through the difficult and painful circumstances in life. Math is difficult and often painful for students but it is worth it to persevere through the difficult concepts, the difficult formulas and the difficult processes in order to reap the benefits on the other side. The mastery of math opens up many possibilities for students that may otherwise be closed to them. I love to be able to help students persevere through this difficult subject.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I am a certified secondary mathematics teacher. I have my Bachelors of Science Degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Education from Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey. I taught for several years as a middle school math teacher and several years as a high school math teacher. My areas of expertise include general math (6th through 8th grade), Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Although I love teaching math and I love to strive to make math exciting and compelling for my students, it is only a part of who I am as a person. My faith in Jesus Christ shapes all that I do. My wonderful husband of almost 20 years and my four great kids are a huge priority for me. I also love to play the drums and play video games, especially any of the Legend of Zelda games.
