EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe education is of the utmost importance and not something to take lightly. I believe there are a plethora of resources and tools available, especially to today’s generation of learners. With a personal investment of time and energy as well as personal recognition of the value of education and what doors can open as a result of succeeding, an individual is capable of accomplishing incredible feats and surpassing what may appear to be insurmountable obstacles.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Literature with a concentration in English Education from Point Loma Nazarene University. I also recently completed my Master of Arts Degree in Church Ministry and Leadership from Hope International University and will be graduating with a 3.8 GPA. I currently work in education as an administrative assistant for an Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, Curriculum and Instruction; thus, I have studied and worked extensively in education and employ the essentials embodied in Language Arts, composition and writing.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
During the latter part of my undergrad I was a tutor for the Writer’s Studio as well as the grad director after completing my degree. I have tutored extensively in English composition during my undergrad and post graduation years. Because of my experience of working in education, I have assisted with staff development as well as the development and discussion of curriculum/ resources.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I volunteer extensively at church as a music ministry leader, women’s ministry, discipleship, small group leadership and administratively. This has provided me a very well-rounded disposition as well as an appreciation for assisting/helping others in need.
