I believe in helping students find the tools within themselves, to take down the obstacles in front of them. I encourage my students to think outside the box and try new ways of looking at a subject. Pushing outside of your comfort zone can lead to discovering new talents!
I am a former national level athlete, and a NCAA division one scholarship athlete. The character traits you need to be successful in high preformance athletics, I also carry in my academic life. I hold a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina State University in Education. I also hold a Bachelor of Education from University of Ontario Institute of Technology where I was president of my faculty.
I have been tutoring for 5 years now, and I have taught in the past year at 3 different schools in the Durham Region (Ontario) area.
I have coached volleyball, and soccer at the schools I have worked at. I am also a swim coach outside my professional life. I coach competitive swimmers ages 4-18 and also adults marathon swimming. I teach like I coach, I encourage students to dig deep and find the strategies to tackle obstacles.
