I believe that everything has a teachable moment. All students have questions and I believe that these should be answered cogently and appropriately. I believe that students should be treated with respect and that they should be empowered to not be afraid of learning.

I earned my B.S. in Health Education with a minor in Biology from Southern Connecticut State University in 1982. I received a M. S. in Community and Public Health Education from the University of Illinois Urbana- Champaign in 1985. I earned my latest degree in 2006. A Masters’ of Education with a concentration in Biology from Alabama A & M University.

I have teaching experience with the Pinnacle Schools of Huntsville, Westminster Christian Academy, Huntsville City Schools and Three Springs/Sequel School of Madison.

I have been an Instructor and volunteer with the American Redcross in 3 different states since 1982. I have been a member of Civitan Internationl since 1991. Most recently I served on the board of directors for Civitans Care, Inc. in Huntsville, Al. I enjoy reading science fiction and historical fiction.
