EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe in a positive and individualized approach to teaching, using as many modes as possible. These include: auditory, visual, kinesthetic and tactile approaches. I strongly believe that every student should experience success to build confidence.
I have had experience working as a freelance writer, assistance editor, copyeditor, contributing writer and sole writer or various newspapers, magazines and websites which has helped me improve my style of writing immensely over the years.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master of Arts in Creative Writing. My specialty focus was poetry, but I also studied fiction extensively. I also studied Psychology and Education during my time in University.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
As an education major, I had practical experiences in the classroom, and was an early education teacher as well. I home schooled for several years and lead group teaching sessions in writing. I have worked with students with special needs such as writing, math and reading disabilities as well as ADHD.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I enjoy writing both literary short stories and poetry, as well as, writing for young people. I enjoy music, travel and spending time with family.
