Because each student is a unique individual with varying degrees of background knowledge and support, I scaffold lessons and differentiate instruction in order to meet the needs of each and every student. My ultimate goal is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to improve and achieve success.

I am currently working towards completing the last three courses of my Masters degree in Education. I am a certified secondary biology teacher for grades 5-12, but have also spent time teaching college age students, as well as preschool children. I have an undergraduate degree in zoology, and have spent over a decade working as a licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist in microbiology labs.

I have been teaching for approximately 10 years at the elementary, high school and college levels.

I enjoy spending my free time watching my children participate in activities such as lacrosse, basketball, soccer, and Irish step dancing. I also love reading, and volunteering at my children’s school. We have two dogs at home that can always be found at our feet, a yellow lab named Denali and a black lab puppy named Finley.
