I believe that all students deserve the right to a quality education. I am able and willing to accommodate to the individual needs of all students. I am committed to providing students with challenging and engaging learning opportunities in the classroom daily, and am dedicated to educating, building relationships, and serving as a positive role-model to all students

I graduated in four years with a Bachelor of Science, Major: English Education from Florida State University. Prior to attending FSU I attended Plant City High School where I graduated with honors.

7th & 8th grade Language Arts Teacher. As a classroom teacher, I was able to educate a wide variety of students. Teaching in a Title I school has prepared me to be the best teacher I can be. I encountered students of various learning abilities, backgrounds, and socioeconomic statues, and I strive to successfully instill literacy and creativity in the minds of all my students.

Shields Leadership Program is an after school program designed to give students a safe, comforting, helpful place to go after school to complete homework, get tutoring, and learn how to be a leader of their education. The program was started our Drop-Out Prevention Specialist; she created a team of four core teachers of various subjects to assist with the students needs. The program was free and voluntary for students. They could come on an as-need basis if they required extra help with homework, needed to study for an upcoming test, work on projects, complete missing work, OR just come to have a quiet place to do their homework after school
