EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
In order for one to be taught, they must realize the beauty and potential they possess. A classroom should be a caring, nurturing, safe and equal environment where a person can grow and blossom. With positive discipline and encouragement, people will know how to be responsible for themselves. As well, they will learn how to be successful in life and believe in themselves.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature at Brock University with an anticipated graduation date of April 2016. All of my courses in my program are practical and helpful in building me up to be confident in my abilities to teach others in the area.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
In my first year, I had experience volunteering at an elementary school. I took part in an after-school homework club where I assisted students in their homework. This experience helped me gain confidence and skill in my ability to teach. Since then, I have continued working with students in small groups and one-on-one.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Since my first year, I have been a part of my universities Creative Writing club. Here, students gather to share their work, gather thoughts and insights from their peers, and offer suggestions. It’s a warm atmosphere full of passionate people willing to share and learn.
