Every student can learn as long as they have a patient and compassionate teacher assisting them on their journey. I truly believe that education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. In order to do that children must be taught how to think, not what to think. That is why I love to teach.
I majored in Human Development with a concentration in Chemistry and Biology while being a Pre-Medical major at an Ivy league institution. I also have several years of research experience and I am knowledgable in the sciences.
I have 2 years of professional teaching experience teaching various science courses. I also have 8 years of tutoring students in the sciences as well as in math courses. I am presently a science teacher teaching Middle and High School science to students (courses include: Earth Space Science, Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry). As a teacher, I plan for effective classroom instruction by utilizing higher level thinking/reasoning skills, central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structure of the discipline and developmental tasks.
I greatly enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Activities that I might partake in include reading, biking, and yoga in my free time. I also enjoy volunteering at homeless shelters and local hospitals.
