EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
As an educator, I vow to support and create community connections, make my students laugh at least once a day, and to expect the best from each of my students, as a means of improving student learning and success. I firmly believe students have the right to a fun and inclusive learning environment.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I first attended the University of Guelph for my Bachelor of Arts degree, where I majored in English and minored in History. I then went on to complete my Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University. Finally, I completed my teaching certification for the province of Ontario for English and History.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Since 2010, I have worked as an occasional teacher, and since 2012 I have worked as a private tutor. I also have experience working as an occasional teacher for the Lambton Kent District School Board. Furthermore, I have also been the coordinator of an education program where I was responsible for creating and implementing a tutoring program for fifty students at the junior level, grades four to six.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am a member of the Film Club at my local library and I am also a member of a book club. In addition, I volunteer at a local high school helping out with various fundraising projects.
