EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that every student can achieve success when given the right tools. I like students to feel comfortable in their learning environment, helping them to reach their full potential. I believe in incorporating a sense of community in my classroom, along with incorporating differentiated instruction methods. I want students to leave my class not only feeling educated and knowledgeable, but also full of inspiration, positive energy and a sense of accomplishment.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
After graduating high school, I attended the University of Toronto where I specialized in English with a minor in History. After graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Humanities, I attended University of Ontario Institute of Technology. I graduated in June 2014 with my Bachelor of Education. I am a licensed teacher in the province of Ontario.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught several age groups. Through working in a daycare, I have been educating children from the ages of 6 months up to 12 years old. I taught Language, Math and Science for grades 7 and 8. My high school teaching experience includes grade 9 English, grade 11 Drama, grade 11 Musical Theatre, grade 12 University level English, grade 12 University level Writers Craft and finally, a Credit Completion Course.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
While in high school I took part in the Prom Committee. I also founded the Cheerleading team for Pickering High School. During my placements I helped out with the Improv Club along with any after school help. I also helped out with the Cheerleading team during my last placement at Pickering High School.
