I believe students excel when they are valued as individuals with different learning styles and strengths. Teaching within the context of an individual’s frame of reference is the best way to succeed.
I have a Master’s degree in Library Science. I also completed graduate work in Psychology. I also have a BA in English Literature. In addition to my degree completion, I complete continuing education coursework on a regular basis.
I have taught small groups computer literacy and research skills for the last 8 years. During that time I have also had the opportunity to tutor students of all ages in a virtual environment. During college I volunteered as a reading tutor for 8th grade students, and I volunteered as an tutor for adults who were learning to read.
I enjoy camping, reading, and visiting the gym at least a few times a week. I also love travel, and I try to visit at least one new place every year.
