About Me

My teaching philosophy focuses on student success through an innovative, safe and inclusive learning environment. Student success will be promoted through self-motivation, creativity and dedication, preparing them for the fast-paced, ever-changing world.
Through my experiences, I have had the chance to teach a diverse group of students with a variety of learning styles, needs and exceptionalities. I have gained in-depth knowledge of accommodation for different styles of learners and incorporating effective methods to meet students unique needs through my teaching experiences and through various current professional developments.

I encourage student learning by incorporating creative learning centers, various forms of technology, inquiry based hands-on activities, and fun manipulatives. These methods are proven to stimulate students’ social, emotional, physical and academic growth.

I have graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University, with a focus in the primary/junior division. Prior to this I received my undergraduate degree in psychology, as well as a post-graduate degree in addictions counseling. I have 4 years of experience working with adolescents and youth in a school-based setting with different backgrounds and learning abilities. I have recently completed additional qualification courses in Special Education 1 and Intermediate Family Studies.

I have successfully completed my Bachelor of Education with a focus in primary/junior. I completed my placement in grade 6 and 3. Through these placement, I have gained a lot of experience with EQAO, creating lessons based on the requirements and helping student be prepared. Throughout university I have tutored student from elementary school and high school. I currently work with high school students who are completing their courses by correspondence.

I currently volunteer in a grade 3 classroom where I have the opportunity to assist the teacher with her lessons and help the students with the class work. Outside of that, I enjoy being active with my two dogs, crocheting, and watching movies.
