EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I am flexible on adapting to different learning styles, focusing on students’ capabilities rather than concentrating on limitations. I am always tolerant and respectful.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a bachelor’s degree in Math Secondary Education from the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador, Venezuela. I also have a master’s degree in Statistics from the Universidad Central de Venezuela.
I have taken courses in Research in Education, Quality Control of Process, Data Analysis in Quality Control, several mathematical topics, computer and English courses.
I completed the Ready To Teach Program at SAIT in 2007, as well as Introduction to Distance Education and Training and Introduction to Exceptional Children at Athabasca University in 2010 and 2011.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am currently an Individualized Tutor at Athabasca University in math and distance education. From 2009-2013 I tutored for a number of math and Spanish courses at the Alberta Distance Learning Centre. I taught junior high math and Spanish at the Banbury Crossroads School for two years, and tutored math to individuals and small groups in a distance education system from 1991-1999.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I have volunteered at Bow Valley College supporting an adult with disabilities, using SARAW and SAM software. I also actively contribute to the Universe newspaper, writing a monthly column about mathematic subjects. I am also an active member of my Parish.
