EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Education needs to be seen as a lifelong, permanent facet of a student’s life. While achieving grades is important, focus needs to be placed upon a student’s ability to truly understand and apply the information they’re being tested on.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a constant, long-term approach to my personal education. Earning my undergraduate degree (B.A.) in Financial Economics, I began to challenge myself. Earning a full scholarship to the University of Tampa to earn my M.B.A. furthered this challenge. From there, I’ve earned my Series 7 and Series 66 licenses, Insurance license, real estate license, and several other certifications. I am constantly learning, as should the students in this program.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I’ve taught in a variety of settings. While in my undergraduate program, I taught ECO 254: Economics of Small Business Management. While earning my MBA, I taught all incoming undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, I’ve coached youth basketball, mentored “at risk” students in a study program, and provided general help to others when needed.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I’ve been active in my community for my entire life. I’ve helped with the Orono Recreational Department (head basketball coach), UTampa Academic Coaching (ACE) Program, The Chohn’s and Colitistis Foundation, The Lions Club, Habitat for Humanity, and the South Tampa YMCA. I remain active as a basketball player, participating in men’s leagues in Falmouth and Portland, Maine.
STANDARDIZED TEST RESULTS
I received a shor of 680 on the GMAT (98 percentile), and scored within the 85th percentile for the GRE exam.
