EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
From my educational experiences, I know how valuable teacher encouragement and motivation
is for personal motivation. I motivate students while teaching them to be intrinsically
motivated through challenging yet supportive lessons and assignments.
is for personal motivation. I motivate students while teaching them to be intrinsically
motivated through challenging yet supportive lessons and assignments.
As an English teacher, I help the students understand and continue to learn about their language, while developing an appreciation for literature.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I attended a community college for an A.A. degree in liberal arts and then transferred to a four year university in order to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Studies. I began teaching in 2008 and am a certified teacher in K-6 and English 6-12 in the state of Florida. I have taught at all levels of school, including Advanced Placement Classes. I currently teach high school American Literature and AP Language.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught 5th grade, 7th grade English and high school English. At the high school level I have taught 11th grade, 12th grade, Reading, ACT/SAT prep and Advanced Placement Language and Composition.
I believe that by teaching this variety of subjects and grade levels, I have a greater understanding of students and how they learn. I develop positive rapport with my students and in return they are motivated to try their hardest.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I help with sponsoring the class 2015. I also assist in after school tutoring in test prep in my classroom. I have even volunteered to help out the volleyball coach in the past. I am willing to do what it takes to make students and my school successful. Other than school, I spend my time with my own children and church family.
