About Me
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
All students have the ability to learn, but each student’s personality affects his learning. Find out about the child – what he enjoys doing when he is not in school, what kind of music he listens to, what his favorite game is – and then use his interests to help lead his education. When children are interested in something, they work harder to understand it all. Although individualized education can be difficult in a public school setting, tutoring allows this kind of interest-led learning. Just see where it takes them.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a Bachelor’s degree in secondary English education and a minor in writing. I also have a Master’s degree in education, with a focus in literacy and language.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have worked as a teacher in grades 7-12 for over 12 years. Throughout that time, I always strove to increase my knowledge. Currently, I am working towards a Ph.D. in education, specializing in critical literacy and English education.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
My extracurricular activities are on the mental side, rather than the physical. I am a homebody who loves to read, write, and watch science fiction and fantasy tales. I do, however, enjoy taking a nice evening stroll and playing games with my family.
