About Me
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that knowledge is empowering, which I try to instill in my students every day. I believe in the importance of continuous education and always stay up-to-date with the most current advancements in education to make my lessons relevant. I believe that educators have the greatest jobs because we have the opportunity to change and shape lives.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I attended the University of Mount Union where I majored in English/ Writing with a double minor in Pre-Law and Education. I am currently working on my Masters in Educational Administration with the hope of one day becoming a building administrator.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I hold my professional license in Integrated Language Arts, specializing in grade levels 7-12. I have four years of teaching experience in almost all grade levels I am certified in. My husband is an ER doctor, so we spent four years moving from place to place. While it was difficult moving around, I had the benefit of working at three great schools and gaining a vast amount of experience. I also taught an ACT prep class for a year.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am an avid runner and participate in marathons, half-marathons, and various other races per year. I also enjoy reading, playing soccer, and attending sporting events. I coached track for two years and enjoy coaching various sports.
