I have entered this field to prepare all students for the ever changing world, and ensure their continued success as positive members of their communities. Student success is at the heart of why I chose to be an educator and I believe that every student is capable of success and the highest level of growth.

I believe that education is the key to success which is why I pride myself on the education and experience I gained from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Integrated Marketing and Communications in 2009 and my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2011.

I have four years of direct teaching experience, three of which took place in a low-income Title-1 School District as a Third Grade Teacher. I developed an after school tutoring program for students in grades K-5, and increased reading proficiency by 37%.

Forming relationships with my students outside of the classroom through extracurricular activities is often where the most learning takes place. This is why I have served as the Girls on the Run Coach for 2 years. GOTR is a character building track program focused on building confidence and self-esteem within students. This has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
