I believe that all students have the right to a quality education. Social and economic status are not in the equation when assisting a student to be successful. Education is the one thing that will never be taken away from an individual and its importance should be held high.

I spent 4 years earning a degree in Art Education and also received a certification in Mild and Moderate Disabilities. My degree and certification both allow me to teach kindergarten through twelfth grade. During my years of earning my degree, I spent hundreds of hours in different classrooms to ensure that I was prepared to be the best teacher I could be.

I have just began my 6th year teaching. I have spent 5 of my 6 years teaching special education and 1 year teaching art. My passion is to help students who are struggling. I love to see students succeed and find the potential that lies within them.

Over my 6 years, I have been on the district PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) team and TST (Teacher Support Team) teams and I’m on my 2nd year as the sponsor of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions). I enjoy the opportunity to engage with students outside of the classroom. I feel that it is important for students to find an outlet tied to school to be involved in.
