EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Simply put, education is important. It is the driving force behind success, whether it be in the classroom, in the workplace, or in the development of relationships and personal growth. I believe that education happens everyday, everywhere; we are always learning something new. An ideal education combines high-quality teachers, hardworking students, strong professional elements, and a dash of fun!
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
My official educational background includes time in both Canada and the U.S. I have been an honors student since elementary school. I graduated from the University of Michigan in the Spring of 2012 with degrees in English, Political Science, and Global Media Studies. Most recently, in order to further develop my written and storytelling skills, I participated in a three-month screenwriting program in Hollywood.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been a private English tutor for many years. Over the past two years, I have been working as a writing mentor and copy-editor for a company that aims to help international students apply to and get into colleges and universities in North America.
Outside of the classroom, I have also served as a teacher in different church and summer camp settings.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am fortunate to have enjoyed excellent work-life balance for most of my life. Outside of the classroom, I have participated in several extracurricular activities, including: National Honor Society, Science Olympiad, Power of the Pen, SCS TV, Chinese school, basketball, swimming, soccer, figure skating, piano, art, and violin. In more recent times, my favorite hobbies include traveling, playing volleyball, and playing with my dog.
