EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe the key to successful learning is a thorough understanding of a student’s specific strengths and weaknesses and then a tailoring of instructional plans to meet their needs. Through doing this I have helped experiences experience heavy engagement in learning and substantial growth.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I attended Vanderbilt University and earned a degree in Chemistry before moving on to earn my Master’s in Secondary teaching from Spalding University. I have taught high school chemistry for four years and have taught ACT, SAT, and general test preparation for six years.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been a high school chemistry teacher for four years. I have taught ACT test prep in a one-on-one setting with an average score increase of 6-8pts. I have also taught classes in ACT test prep with an average score increase of 3.8 pts. Additionally, I have done private tutoring in math, science, and history.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
While I was in school I was on the Academic Team, Debate Team, and Soccer Team. Now I spend most of my free time caring for my three year old son.
STANDARDIZED TEST RESULTS
I scored 680 on the Verbal component and 760 on the Mathematics component of the GRE.
