EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that all students are unique. Each student learns in his or her own way, and with attention, patience, and perseverance, all students can enjoy learning. By using teaching styles that are individualized to each student, as well as by providing encouragement and motivation, I believe that all students can succeed.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received my B.A. in English and Spanish from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2013. I have studied various types of composition and literature in both languages. With my minor in Linguistics, I have studied various features of the English language, as well as differences in some major dialects in the United States. I have continued to learn about learning styles and techniques that are particular to English Language Learners through Professional Development seminars.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have two years of teaching experience in the classroom. I have worked with high school students as well as elementary students.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I have always enjoyed reading and writing, and enjoy both activities in my spare time. On weekends I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and love taking walks with my husband and dog through the park near our home. I have been playing guitar since I was thirteen years old, and greatly enjoy playing and listening to most genres of music.
