I believe all children have the right to be educated in mind, body and spirit. For this to happen, parents, teachers and students must work and communicate with one another with the student’s best interests in mind.

I have a science undergraduate degree from Westminster College and master’s level work in geosciences with an emphasis in educational applications. I also have a math and science teaching certification in both Oklahoma and Michigan.

I have 11 years of middle school teaching experience in 3 states. I have been an integrated science teacher for 2 years, a physical science teacher for 7 years, and a pre-algebra teacher for 2 years.

I enjoy watching sports on television, especially football and professional basketball. I am also an avid outdoor entusiast. I like canoing, hiking and camping. I love all animals and have rescued a cat and a dog.

I scored 31 on my ACT exam in high school.
